From Lord Advocate to Edinburgh legend.

Inspired by Sir George “Bloody” Mackenzie, the seventeenth-century Scottish Lord Advocate whose name became closely associated with the persecution of Covenanters and the prisoners held after the Battle of Bothwell Bridge. The story follows Mackenzie from his historical reputation and burial at Greyfriars into the later supernatural legends surrounding his mausoleum, the Covenanters’ Prison and the so-called Mackenzie Poltergeist.
