The house that remains.
This song is inspired by Sharon Rectory in County Donegal, built in 1775 as the rectory for Ray Church. Its story weaves together the Waller household, the violent 1797 attack that left Sarah mortally wounded and Hamilton dead, local legends surrounding the house, its later ruin and restoration, and the paranormal experiences reported there today. Told from the Rectory’s own perspective, the song watches generations come and go while the house itself endures: I remain.
