The old bogeywoman in the hills.
Inspired by the English folklore of Black Annis, the blue-faced hag said to haunt the Dane Hills near Leicester. Legend tells of iron claws, a cave beneath an ancient oak and children dragged away after dark, their blood drunk and their skins hung from the branches.
Told as a sinister bedtime warning from mother to child, the song turns an old bogeywoman tale into a dark pagan lullaby.
